Eavesdropping

I spent a lovely afternoon in New Hope, PA with my husband yesterday. We were having a late lunch at one of the restaurants along the river, when a neighboring conversation caught my ear. The young gentleman at the next table, complete with polo shirt, collar "popped," brand new white tennis shoes, and sunglasses that probably cost more than my car, was discussing a book he had read with his girlfriend and another older woman.
"....it was about this guy who hiked the Appalachian Trail. You know, actually, this is something that we considered doing seriously, but everyone who does it comes back kind of weird, so maybe we won't."
To this I say, get me my hiking boots.

An adventure like that can be a life changing experience. A person can come back with a new outlook on life, appreciation for the beauty and fragility of nature and our precious planet's resources like clean water and fresh air. Or they can discover something new about themselves on the way. OMG! That would be SO WEIRD! lol!
