Just Checking In....

It occurred to me that I promised some folks that I would post pictures of some invitations I worked on recently using my Silhouette SD, so I thought I'd do that.

This was for my father-in-law's 80th Birthday, I had so much fun digging through all of the old pictures and putting these together. I am really pleased with how they turned out. I was hoping that everyone would want to hang on to them, and enjoy the photos. It's like an invitation and party favor in one.

In other news, my sewing machine is heading into the shop for a tune up and repairs. Luckily, it waited until I was finished with a custom order for one of my wonderful costomers, who also happens to be the writer of one of my favorite blogs. Check her out at CLAMCO where she writes about life in general, including her fitness journey, her very talented daughter's artwork and other day to day happenings.

With the sewing machine out of commission, it has delayed some projects I have been thinking about that I plan to send out to Pine Ridge Reservation. The website was brought to my attention recently, and there is a great need there for donations of all types. Right now, I am going to focus on making tote bags and sending them off to LOWO so the foster children have something other than garbage bags to carry their belongings in. Later I am thinking about maybe some simple children's clothing. I have a bazillion patterns and yards and yards of fabric stashed away, that I will probably never use, so this seemed like a good match. Maybe *crosses fingers* my daughter and her friends might like to learn some sewing skills and I can enlist their help.
If you are a crafter, and you sew, knit or crochet, check out the crafter's list of items that are needed. Excess arts and craft supplies can also find new homes with some of the schools on the reservation.

Oh, that invitation is so cool! I love the whole see-thru sleeve idea. Very creative and so special.
Thanks so much for the blog mention. Sorry I wore out your sewing machine! Keep posting and please show us the items you make for the children at PRR before you send them off. :)

Haha! I've been abusing that sewing machine for about 17 years now, it was bound to happen sooner or later! ;)
